Household hazardous waste in Rhode Island
Most Rhode Island town transfer stations do not take household hazardous waste as a routine drop-off. Residents typically use Rhode Island Resource Recovery's Eco-Depot events for chemicals, and PaintCare sites for leftover architectural paint.
Facts checked against RIRRC and town sources on 2026-11-05.
Eco-Depot (RIRRC)
- Eco-Depot is RIRRC's household hazardous waste collection program. Appointments and schedules are published by RIRRC.
- Use Eco-Depot for many household chemicals that towns refuse at the scale house.
- Architectural paint has a separate PaintCare program in Rhode Island. See the paint guide.
