Who can use it

Worcester residents only with proof of residency plus driver's license or state/federal ID. Commercial waste and commercial vehicles are not accepted for bulk drop-off.

Hours

• Bulk waste (appointment, typically April through November/December, weather permitting): Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (to 3:00 p.m. in November); Saturdays 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Winter bulk hours differ (Wed 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; Sat/Sun 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. per Drop-Off Center page).
• Yard waste (April through November) at Millbury St: Wed 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (to 3:00 p.m. in November), Fri 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sat/Sun 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (to 4:00 p.m. in November).
• Recycling, textiles, compost pickup, cooking oil, mercury (year-round): weekdays from 8:30 a.m. with Wednesday evening hours in season; weekends 9:00 a.m. start. See city page for winter vs warm-season closing times.

Sticker or permit

Required: No (see notes)

Price: No annual vehicle sticker. Bulk items are mostly $5 each at the drop-off center; mattresses and box springs $15 each. Payment by check or exact cash only (no change on site).

Where to buy: Not applicable for a sticker. Schedule bulk appointments online via the city Bulk Waste Drop-Off Appointment link or call 311. Appointments can be made up to 48 hours ahead for a half-hour slot.

Notes: Proof of residency required (current-year tax or water bill if used). DPW may limit yearly quantities of some items.

Drop-Off Center closed on listed 2026 holiday dates on the city page (including Easter, Patriots' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day observed and July 4, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving). Bulk appointments also unavailable July 4 and Nov 11.
